ROME JUVENILE CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ABUSE

A 15 year old Rome Juvenile male has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the third degree according

to Oneida County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara.

The investigation was led by Rome Police Detective E.A. D'Alessandro, who arrested and charged the

juvenile at the Rome Police Department on July 10, 2019. Det. D'Alessandro said that on July 3, 2019 the male juvenile subjected a

female juvenile, under the age of 17, to repeated and unwanted sexual contact.

Det. D'Alessandro charged the juvenile suspect with Sexual Abuse in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor. The suspect is scheduled to

appear at Oneida County Probation in Rome later this month.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center according to Det. D'Alessandro.
