According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; On July 25, 2019 at around 02:16 AM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle property damage accident on Rome New London Road in the Town of Verona. Through the Deputies investigation, they found that Sean Fewer, 24, of Sherill, was driving southerly on Rome New London Road when he left the westerly shoulder of the roadway, striking a telephone pole and causing power lines to block the roadway. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office STOP-DWI Unit subsequently arrested Fewer for DWI. National Grid responded to the scene and the roadway has since been reopened. Fewer was issued tickets returnable to Verona Town Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by New London Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
