According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol:

On July 29th 2019 at 5:20 P.M. Deputies responded to a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident on State Route 69 in the Town of Annsville. An investigation revealed that Samantha Baker (27) of Camden was operating a 2011 Chevorlet Cruze westbound on State Route 69 when Laurie Mitchell (51) of Camden was also westbound in 2011 Chevorlet Traverse directly behind Baker. Baker slowed down for an obstruction in the roadway and Mitchell followed too closely to Baker, which resulted in a collision.

Baker was transported by AmCare Ambulance to Rome Memorial hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the accident. Baker's passenger, Colin Baker (7) was also transported by AmCare Ambulance where he was treated and released by Rome Memorial Hospital.

Mitchell was also transported by AmCare Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the accident. Mitchell was issued traffic tickets returnable to Annsville Town Court at a later date and time.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by McConnellsville Fire Department and Taberg Fire Department.
