SHERIFF ISSUES REMINDER IN REGARDS TO UPCOMING CIVIL SERVICE EXAM

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol reminds anyone interested in a career with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office that there is still time to sign up to take an entrance exam for Correction Officerwithin the Corrections Division.

Those interested in becoming a Correction Officer have until the end of business on August 9th, 2019to apply to take the exam and the exam will be given on September 28th, 2019. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on or before the date of appointment, they must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, and be a resident of Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties. The starting salary for a Correction Officer is $34,810 and advances to $40,953 after successful completion of the Basic Corrections Academy or after successfully completing six months of employment in the bargaining unit.
