According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at around 1:30 am on September 03, 2019, there was a one-car personal injury motor vehicle accident on Cooper Street in the Town of Westmoreland. Victoria Besig, age 18 of Rome, NY was operating her Gray 2002 Buick Le Sabre east on Cooper Street. Besig's vehicle exited the South shoulder of the roadway striking a mailbox and a utility pole. The utility pole broke and Besig's vehicle came to rest in the middle of Cooper St. Besig was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital by Central Oneida County Ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries. Oneida County Sheriffs Office was assisted on scene by members of the Westmoreland Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance and National Grid.
