According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a City of Rome man was arrested for having inappropriate contact with a 14 year old female while in the City of Rome. Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigator C.J. Paravati, who is assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, arrested Joshua Jessop, 21, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, an A Misdemeanor. Jessop was processed at the Rome Police Department and held pending an arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Court located at the Oneida County Jail. An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim and the victim has been offered counseling services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. The Child Advocacy Center was assisted in this investigation by members of the Rome Police Department.
