Sheriff’s Office Holds Correction Officer Graduation Ceremony This Evening Earlier this evening, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office held their 2019 Correction Officer Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony took place on the Utica Campus of Mohawk Valley Community College in the Theatre. The Correction Officer Academy is sponsored and administered by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and is held at the Mohawk Valley Police Academy located on the college campus. This group of twenty-three recruits are from the Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, and Oswego County Sheriff’s Offices. This training is the culmination of 8 weeks of intense classroom, hands on, and field training. During the ceremony, the Correction Officers had their official agency badges pinned on them by their respective Sheriffs and their Undersheriffs presented them with their Certificates of Completion for the academy.
