According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 2 people were sent to the hospital following a 2 car motor vehicle accident on State Route 8 in the Town of Paris.

On October 9th, 2019 at approximately 4:40 pm, 2 people were sent to the hospital for evaluation of injuries after one vehicle turned in front of another vehicle causing the two to collide. The accident occurred when a 2005 Mazda operated by Catherine Nester, age 89, of Sauquoit, attempted to turn left onto Holman City Road and failed to yield the right of way striking an oncoming pickup truck driven by Marc Ritter, age 61, of Clayville. Both Nester and a passenger from the pickup truck, Lori Ritter, age 57, of Clayville, were transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for chest pain.

Nester was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way when making a left turn, returnable to Paris Town Court at a later date.
