According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol:

On November 4th, 2019 at 10:19am Deputies responded to a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident on Marnie St. in the Town of Deerfield. An investigation revealed that Robert Martin (83) of Deerfield was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox when he backed unsafely from his residential driveway and continued across the street striking a residential home at 126 Marnie St. No one was inside the residence at the time of the incident and the home owner was notified.

Martin was transported by Kunkel Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for further treatment.

The Oneida County Sheriffs Office was assisted on scene by Deerfield Fire Department and the New York State Police.

Martin was issued a summons and is to return to court at a later date and time.
