According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, Director of the Child Advocacy Center, a Rome man was arrested on November 14, 2019 for engaging in sexual intercourse with a female child under the age of 15. The incident occurred in the City of Rome on November 14, 2019. Oneida County Sheriff's Office Sergeant M. Bolton and Oneida County Sheriff's Office Investigator Mark Chrysler, both of whom are assigned to the CAC, arrested Larry Reed Jr., age 28 for Rape in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony. Reed Jr. was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility overnight and was arraigned at Rome City Court on November 15, 2019. Reed Jr. was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail and an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim. The victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
