According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, Director of the Child Advocacy Center, a Utica man was arrested on November 15, 2019 as the result of a CAC investigation. Oneida County Sheriff's Office Sergeant M. Bolton arrested Matthew Cummings, age 28, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawful Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors. The charges are the result of inappropriate conduct that Cummings engaged in, with a male child less than 17 years of age, in July of 2019 in the City of Utica. Cummings was held at the Utica Police Department, pending arraignment at Utica City Court on November 15, 2019. An order of protection on behalf of the victim, was requested through the court. The victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
