According to Oneida County Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Verona Beach man has been arrested for having sexual contact with an underage female child.

Rome Police Detective E. A. D'Alessandro, who was assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, began the investigation in July of 2019. During the course of the investigation, it was found that Paul L. Fuller, age 72, subjected a female child under the age of 13 to sexual contact. The case was submitted to the Oneida County District Attorney's Office for Grand Jury consideration.

An Oneida County Grand Jury did indict Fuller on the charge of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child Who is Less Than 13 Years of Age, a Class AII Felony. Fuller was also indicted on further charges of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, and Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony. An Oneida County Court Arrest Warrant was issued for Fuller and given to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit for execution.

On November 21, 2019, the Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit, while being assisted by the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Fuller at his home without incident. Fuller was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office for processing. He was then transported to the Oneida County CAP Court where he was arraigned and held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.

Fuller will appear in Oneida County Court at a later date.

The child victim has been offered counseling through the Advocacy Center and an Order of Protection has been requested against Fuller.
