According to Oneida County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Rome man has been arrested for having inappropriate contact with an under age child.

The investigation was conducted by Sheriff's Investigator Sergeant Melissa Bolton, who is assigned to the Child Advocacy Center. During the investigation, it was found that Adam Beyette, age 40, had inappropriate contact with a 15 year old female child in August of 2019, and again in October of 2019.

Sgt Bolton charged Beyette on November 26, 2019, with 1 count of Forcible Touching and 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the August 2019 incident. He was also charged with 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the October 2019 incident. All the charges are Misdemeanors. Beyette was arraigned in Rome City Court and released. He is scheduled to re-appear in Rome City Court at a later date.

An Order of Protection has been requested on behalf of the victim and services have been offered to her through the CAC.
