Update MVA Route 5 Town of Westmoreland

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 01/16/2020 at 5:55PM, patrol deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 5 in the Town of Westmoreland with serious injuries. Jordon Pallotta, age 30, of Oneida, NY, was operating his 2004 Jeep Liberty, west on Route 5, when he veered into the east bound lane and collided head on with a 2014 Kia Sol, being operated by Jeffery Kane, age 53, from Oneida NY.

Kane's front seat passenger, Brenda Alli, age 46, suffered serious injuries to her legs, arms and back but are not considered to be life threatening. Alli was transported to St Elizabeth ER for treatment by COCVAC Ambulance. A 13 year old female passenger in Kane's vehicle, who's name will not be released due to her age, was also injured and transported to St Elizabeth's ER by COCVAC Ambulance. Kane and Pallotta were transported to St Elizabeth's ER by COCVAC Ambulance for minor injuries.

Route 5 was shut down to one lane for several hours while the Sheriff's Office reconstructed the scene with the assistance of the UAS Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.

Deputies were assisted by members of the New York State Police, Westmoreland Fire Dept, Clark Mills Fire Dept, Clinton Fire Dept., and NYS DOT with road closures.

No tickets have been issued at this time and the investigation is on going.
