According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, road patrol deputies responded to a single car personal injury motor vehicle accident on State route 13 in the Town of Florence on January 17 at about 8:25PM . Upon deputies investigating the crash it is believed the operator, Mitchell Longley (70) , of West Monroe, New York, was operating his 2014 Chevrolet pick-up east bound on State Route 13 when Longley experienced a medical related incident causing Longley to drift in to the west bound lane of travel before exiting off the northern shoulder of the road way where Longley drove in to a ditch, striking a small embankment and then a culvert pipe before coming to rest in a ditch with a slightly slopped embankment causing Longley's pick-up truck to lean towards the passenger side making it unsafe to remove Longley with out anchoring the truck first. At the time of the deputies arrival, Longley was conscious but incoherent. Longley was evaluated on the scene and later transported to Upstate Medical Center for back pain and further evaluation. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Town of Camden Ambulance service and the Town of Florence Ambulance services. No UTT were issued at the time of incident.
