Oneida County Inmate charged with possessing a shank

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, On December 29, 2019 corrections officers were conducting cell searches in the county correctional facility. While searching the cell of Inmate Brandon Clark, officers found a shank in his cell. Clark had sharpened the end of his toothbrush, making it a weapon. Sheriff’s Investigators charged Clark with promoting prison contraband in the first degree, a class D felony. Clark was arraigned this morning in front of Oneida County Court Judge Michael Dwyer, and was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility. He will return to county court at a later date.
