According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 one man was arrested following a domestic incident in the City of Rome.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at about 10:51 PM, Deputies responded to an address on S. James St. in the City of Rome for a reported domestic incident. Based on investigation into the domestic incident, it was determined that throughout the day on January 29, 2020, Trevor C. Fletcher, age 21 , of Rome, N.Y. sent several harassing text messages to another person, went to the person’s place of employment and to the person’s residence on S. James St. in an attempt to locate and speak with the other person regarding some of their personal property. While Fletcher was at the residence on S. James St., Fletcher damaged two doors to the residence and then entered the residence. Fletcher was located in the residence on S. James St. and was taken into custody. Fletcher was brought to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and was charged with Aggravated Harassment in the second degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief in the fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and Stalking in the fourth degree, a Class B Misdemeanor. Fletcher was booked/processed at the Sheriff’s Office and then transferred to the Oneida County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.

Deputies were assisted on scene by members from the New York State Police.
