According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Marcy man was arrested resulting from a personal injury motor vehicle accident in the Town of Verona.

On February 2, 2020 at around 02:33 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Poppleton Road for a reported one car motor vehicle accident. During the investigation, deputies found Michael Cardone, 26, of Marcy, NY, to be the sole occupant of a 2019 GMC Sierra. The investigation found that Cardone was traveling east on Poppleton Road when he failed to keep right leaving the north shoulder of the roadway. Cardon’s vehicle struck a tree coming a rest. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office STOP-DWI Unit responded to the scene and subsequently arrested Cardone for DWI. Cardone was transported to a Syracuse area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Durhamville Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance.
