According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol two were sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Sangerfield.

On February 18th, 2020 at approximately 3:45 PM an accident involving a tractor trailer occurred at the intersection of State Route 12 and State Route 20 in the Town of Sangerfield. Erin Burgess, 49 of Bradford, MA was operating her 2011 Toyota Sequoia East on State Route 20 when she came to a stop at a red light before attempting to proceed through the intersection. While proceeding through the intersection, she was struck by a tractor trailer operated by Adnan Husic, 38 of New Hartford. Due to the size and weight of the tractor trailer, Husic was unable to avoid the collision. Burgess and a passenger of her vehicle were transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

Burgess was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield right of way, returnable to Sangerfield Town Court at a later date.

Assisting on scene were members of the New York State Police and Waterville Volunteer Fire Department.
