According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Monday February 24, 2020 at about 5:45 A.M., sheriff deputies responded to area of State Route 13 and Vienna Road in the Town of Vienna for a snowmobile accident. Investigation into the accident revealed, at approximately 1:00 am on the same date, Milton F Lighthall (50) of Oneida, was operating a 1995 Yamaha Vmax he was traveling in a easterly direction in an open field behind the Town of Vienna Department of Public Works. Lighthall’s snowmobile struck a drainage ditch causing injuries to himself and damage to the front end of the snowmobile. Lighthall was unable to walk because of his injuries and spent almost 5 hours at the scene of the accident before help was notified. Lighthall was transported by Vineall Ambulance to a near by landing zone where he was ultimately transported to Upstate Medical Hospital via Mercy Flight for apparent non-life threatening injuries. No tickets have been issued at this time, however the investigation is continuing.
