According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On February 27, 2020 at about 0754 AM, Deputies responded to State Route 20 in the Town of Bridgewater for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Jessica Mund (32), of Morrisville, NY, was operating a green 2004 Subaru Legacy eastbound on State Route 20. Due to unsafe speed and moving from her lane unsafely, Mund crossed into the westbound lane of traffic striking a grey 2016 Jeep Patriot operated by Lisa Wellenstein (62), of West Windfield, NY resulting in a head-on collision causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Mund’s vehicle subsequently caught fire. Both Wellenstein and Mund sustained injuries and were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital. Mund was issued citations for speed not reasonable and prudent, moving from lane unsafely, and aggravated unlicensed operation (3rd) returnable to Town of Bridgewater court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by the Bridgewater Fire Department, Clayville Fire Department, Bridgewater Ambulance, West Windfield Ambulance, and the NYS Department of Transportation.
