According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on February 27, 2020 at approximately 4pm, deputies responded to the intersection of Bartlett Rd and O'Brien Rd, Town of Westmoreland, for a two vehicle personal injury motor vehicle accident. M. Montgomery, 19, of Rome was operating a 2017 Chevy Traverse when she failed to yield the right of way after stopping at the stop sign at the intersection and pulled out in front of a 2003 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on Bartlett Rd, operated by Nicole Genther, 32, of Westmoreland.

Genther was treated at the scene and transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by Amcare Ambulance for further evaluation.

Montgomery was cited for failure to yield at stop sign and is to appear at Westmoreland court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by New York State Police, Amcare Ambulance and Westmoreland Fire.
