According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On February 27, 2020, at about 3:26 pm, Deputies responded to State Route 233 in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported two-car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Deavot Walker (21) of Rome, NY, was operating a grey 2008 Chevrolet Cruz southbound on State Route 233. Due to slippery road conditions, Walker crossed into the northbound lane of traffic striking a grey 2012 Chevrolet Cruz operated by Miranda Oconnor (25) of Rome, NY. Resulting in a head-on collision heavy damage to both vehicles. Walker was issued multiple traffic citations. Oconnor and her passengers were all transported for minor injuries to St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Westmoreland Fire Department, Amcare Ambulance, Vineall Ambulance, and New York State Police.
