According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Boonville man has been arrested after attempting to sexually entice an underage female child online through a social media website.

Sheriff’s Investigator Mark R. Chrysler was assigned the case in January of 2020, which was reported to the Child Advocacy Center through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in Albany. Through this investigation, it was found that then 22-year-old Allan Swartfiguer had contact with a then 12-year-old female child in the City of Utica through the social media website "Facebook" on several occasions in the summer of 2019. This contact included child sexual enticement.

On March 4, 2020, Investigator Chrysler and Sheriff’s investigator Ryan Marshall located Swartfiguer, who is now 23 years old, at his home in Boonville and arrested him without incident. Swartfiguer was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A Misdemeanor.

Swartfiguer was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Utica City Court in late March.

An Order of Protection has been requested and services have been offered through the Child Advocacy Center for the victim.
