According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On March 6, 2020 at about 323 PM, Deputies responded to Judd Rd between Cider St and Lovers Ln in the Town of Whitestown for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Steven Laubenheimer (43), of Oriskany, NY, was operating a blue 2008 Honda Fit on Judd Rd westbound. Laubenheimer failed to yield the right of way before attempting a left hand turn into a residence on the South side of the road and was struck in the passenger side by a blue 2016 Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound towing a trailer and excavator operated by Robert Kryczkowski (46), of Whitesboro, NY causing heavy damage. Laubenheimer’s vehicle continued off the South shoulder of the roadway before coming to rest in the ditch, Kryczkowski’s vehicle came to rest facing westbound as the excavator became unattached from the trailer and came to rest in the roadway. Laubenheimer was transported from the scene to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to be evaluated for head and neck injuries, Laubenheimer’s passenger Valerie Laubenheimer (47) of Oriskany, NY was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for neck and back injuries, and Kryczkowski was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for an evaluation. Laubenheimer was issued a citation returnable to Town of Whitestown court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by the Whitestown Police Department, New Hartford Police Department, Westmoreland Fire Department, Whitesboro Fire Department, Oriskany Fire Department, Kunkel Ambulance, and COCVAC Ambulance.

As of 500PM, Judd Rd has been reopened to traffic in both directions.
