According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Utica Juvenile has been arrested after having sexual contact with a female child.

Sheriff’s Investigators Nicholas Dean and Mark Chrysler, who are assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, began investigating the case on March 11, 2020.

During the investigation, it was found that the Juvenile male, age 13, had sexual contact with a 7-year-old female during the months of February and March of 2020 in a Utica home.

On April 6, 2020, Investigators Dean and Chrysler located the juvenile at his home and he was arrested without incident. The juvenile was charged with Rape in the First Degree and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, both class B Felonies. The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket to return to Oneida County Youth Probation at a later date.

An Order of Protection is being requested on behalf of the victim and services have been offered through the Child Advocacy Center.
