According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Sangerfield man has been arrested after having sexual contact with an underage female child.

Oneida County Sheriff’s Investigators Mark Chrysler and Nicholas Dean both were assigned the case on March 13, 2020.

During the investigation, it was found that Robert A. Rink, age 81, had sexual contact with a then 12-year-old female child in the summer of 2019 while at his residence in Sangerfield. After the same child turned 13, Rink had sexual contact with her again in March of 2020.

Investigators Chrysler and Dean arrested Rink on April 9, 2020, and charged him with 2 counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd and 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all of which are Class A Misdemeanors. Rink was transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he is being held for his arraignment at Centralized Arraignment.

An Order of Protection has been requested on behalf of the child and services have been offered through the Child Advocacy Center.
