According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Utica Juvenile has been arrested after having sexual contact with an adult female.

Sheriff’s Investigator Nicholas Dean, who is assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, began investigating the case on April 9, 2020.

During the investigation, it was found that the Juvenile male, age 10, had sexual contact with a 19-year-old female while she slept during the early morning hours of April 6, 2020 in a Utica home.

On April 13, 2020, Investigator Dean and Investigator Mark Chrysler located and arrested the juvenile at his home. The juvenile was charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree a Class D Felony. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Oneida County Youth Probation at a later date and released.

An Order of Protection is being requested on behalf of the victim and services have been offered through the Child Advocacy Center.
