According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a 15 year old juvenile male from Vernon was referred to Oneida County Juvenile Probation for engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a 12 year old female. Rome Police Detective Alex Sypniewski, assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, conducted the investigation into the matter. Detective Sypniewski began the investigation on April 08, 2020. The act committed by the 15 year old would constitute the charge of Forcible Touching, if committed by an adult. The victim has been offered counseling services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
