According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 2 people were sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Westmoreland.

On April 28th, 2020 at approximately 6:30 A.M., Daniel Wossner, 60 of Rome, was operating a 2015 Kia eastbound on Lowell Road in the Town of Westmoreland when he approached the intersection with State Route 26. Due to the foggy conditions, Wossner did not see the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection striking another vehicle, a 2004 Mitsubishi, operated by Eric Legler, 53 of Vernon. Both parties were transported by COCVAC Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

Wossner was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign returnable to Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.

Assisting on scene were members of NYS DOT and the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department.
