According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol;

One person was transported to a local hospital following a single-vehicle rollover in the area of Route 233 and Butts Road in the outer district of the City of Rome.

The accident occurred on May 17th, 2020 at about 9:52 A.M. After an investigation, Deputies determined that Steven E Seaton (51) of Friendsville, PA, was traveling Northbound on Route 233 when he experienced mechanical issues with his 2008 Subaru. Seaton reacted to the mechanical issue attempting to stop suddenly and lost control of the vehicle. Seaton attempted to regain control on the vehicle but he was unable to do so leaving the east shoulder before rolling over to its passenger side. Seaton's passenger, Rose Ann Sala (46) , also from Friendsville, PA, was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for the apparent minor injuries. Seaton was issued a citation for leaving his lane unsafely returnable to Rome City Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by; NY State Police, AmCare Ambulance, Rome Fire Department, and Stanwix Fire.
