Serious Personal Injury MVA Car/bicycle T/Camden

According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol deputies responded to a car/bicyclist crash at approximately 11:38 AM this morning on State Route 69 near Brewer Road in the Town of Camden. Rodney Facteau, 20 of Camden was traveling westbound on Route 69 approaching Brewer Road in his 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Pick-up truck when he saw a female on a bicycle. The female, Mary Lou Miller, 63 of Parish was riding her bicycle westbound attempting to cross the roadway and turn onto Brewer Road when she failed to see the oncoming vehicle driven by Facteau. Mr. Facteau attempted to swerve to avoid striking Miller but was unable to and Miller struck the mirror of Facteau's pick-up truck. The Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the scene along with the Forensic Identification Unit to investigate. The crash was reconstructed and the road is now back open. Miller was treated on scene by members of the Camden Ambulance and was transported to SUNY Upstate Hospital by Mercy Flight for her injuries and is listed in critical condition. Assisting on scene were members of the Camden Fire Department and New York State Police. No tickets have been issued and the crash is still under investigation.
