According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020, at about 12:29 P.M., Deputies responded to Eureka Road, in the Town of Westmoreland, for a reported Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident. The investigation determined that Jodi Lynn, 57, of Westmoreland, was operating a Red, 2017 Nissan Rogue in an easterly direction on Eureka Road. Lynn became distracted by a dog in her vehicle when she looked back at the animal. Upon doing so, she had realized her vehicle was now traveling in the shoulder of the roadway. Lynn stated that she attempted to correct the vehicle actions to which she was too late causing her to enter into a ditch located on the northern shoulder of said roadway. She continued through said ditch going airborne coming into contact with a utility pole. This all caused her to come to a halt in the front lawn of 6017 Eureka Road. Lynn was transported by COCVAC to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for minor injuries to her shoulder, and neck. Lynn was cited under NYS VTL section 1128 subsection A, Moving from Lane Unsafely, returnable to Westmoreland Town Court at a later date. Deputies on scene were assisted by Westmoreland Fire and COCVAC Ambulance personnel.
