According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy…

According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a 14 year old juvenile male from Rome was referred to Oneida County Juvenile Probation for engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a 5 year old female.

Sheriff’s Investigator Mark Chrysler was assigned the case on April 16, 2020. The investigation revealed that the acts committed by the 14 year old, which occurred at the beginning of 2020, would constitute the charge of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony, if committed by an adult.

Chrysler was assisted by Sheriff’s Investigator Nick Dean.

The victim has been offered counseling services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
