According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Deerfield man has been arrested after making several inappropriate contacts with a child by use of social media.

On May 21, 2020, the Child Advocacy Center was contacted by an officer from the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia. It was reported that on May 16, 2020, a 15-year-old child in that state had been contacted by a registered sex offender who resides in Oneida County. Sheriff’s Investigator Mark R. Chrysler was assigned to the case.

The investigation revealed that in 2016, an incident occurred in the city of Utica, involving this same child, which resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Anthony Getti for Unlawful Imprisonment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. An Order of Protection, which had been issued after the 2016 incident, had since expired.

On June 4, 2020, Investigator Chrysler, along with Sheriff’s Investigator Nicholas Dean, located Getti in Utica and arrested him for one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child stemming from this most recent contact.

Getti was transported back to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and held while he awaited his arraignment.

An Order of Protection has been requested on behalf of the child and services have been offered through the Child Advocacy Center.
