According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 23, 2020 at around 1:53 P.M., Road Patrol Deputies responded to the area of State Route 12 and Dustin Road in the Town of Remsen for a reported motorcycle accident.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Frederick D Mills (55), of Hinkley, was operating a black Harley Davidson in a southernly direction on State Route 12 when Mills veered off the roadway and struck the center median guide rail at that intersection, causing him to become ejected off of the motorcycle.

Mills was treated on scene by EMS and then air lifted by Mercy Flight to a Syracuse Area Hospital with serious injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Remsen Fire, Forestport Fire, Boonville Ambulance and Mercy Flight.
