According to Sheriff Robert Maciol a Sylvan Beach Man was arrested for Boating While Intoxicated on July 4, 2020 on the Barge Canal in Sylvan Beach.

On July 4, 2020 at about 9:40 PM, Members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Unit were on Patrol on Oneida Lake when they came upon a vessel operating without navigation lights.

Upon further investigation the operator, Roland J. Miller age 58, of Sylvan Beach was found to be operating under the influence. After Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Mr. Miller was taking into custody for Boating While Intoxicated (BWI) and transported to the NYSP Station in Sylvan Beach for processing. Mr. Miller was released on an Appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Sylvan Beach Court at a later date.

Because he was released on an Appearance Ticket, there is no booking photo of Mr. Miller.
