Sheriff’s investigators have charged a man as a result of an investigation into a motor vehicle crash that occurred in the Town of Westmoreland.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Jordon Pallotta was driving West on State Route 5 in the Town of Westmoreland around 5:00 PM on January 16, 2020 when he fell asleep and crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by Jeffery Kane of Oneida. Kane and his two passengers suffered multiple injuries. Kane and his passengers were transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and admitted. Pallotta was also transported to St. Elizabeth’s where he was treated and released.

An investigation revealed that at the time of the crash Pallotta’s ability to drive was impaired by drugs. Investigators have charged Pallotta, 31 of Oneida with vehicular assault in the first degree, a class D felony. He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $15,000 cash or bond. Pallotta will return to court at a later date.
