According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Boonville woman was injured following a two car Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of State Route 46 and State Route 274, in the Town of Western.

On July 31, 2020, at approximately 12:13pm, Crystal A. Sokoloff, 50, of Boonville was traveling Northbound on Route 46 when a vehicle, driven by Emma M. Shoemaker, 17, of Remsen made a left turn off from State Route 274 and failed to yield the right of way. Sokoloff was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare Ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries. Shoemaker was evaluated on scene but was not transported. Shoemaker was cited for failure to yield right of way and issued a ticket returnable to Western Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by AmCare Ambulance, and the Town of Western Fire Department.
