According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On August 06, 2020 at about 0819 AM, Deputies responded to E Seneca St near the Wood Rd intersection in the Village of Vernon for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Kris Richardson (69), of Vernon, NY, was operating a black 2009 Pontiac West on E Seneca St. Due to following too closely, Richardson failed to stop for a stopped vehicle at the red light striking a 2017 Jeep Wrangler operated by Jordan Walker (29), of Vernon, NY in rear end causing damage to her car. Both parties involved were evaluated on scene, and Richardson was transported to Oneida Hospital for chest pain. Richardson was issued a citation for Following Too Closely returnable to Town of Vernon court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Vernon Fire Department, and Vineall Ambulance.
