According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol: State Route 12 in the Town of Trenton between State Route 28 and Mapledale Road was shut down on all four lanes for a short period of time this afternoon. On Friday, August 7, 2020, at or about 1130 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 12 and State Route 28 in the Town of Trenton for a tractor-trailer that damaged a utility pole. The investigation revealed that Edward A. Liner, 60, of Canton, Texas was operating a 2019 Kenworth tractor-trailer and was attempting to exit a private parking lot to merge into Route 12 Northbound when his trailer got attached to electrical power lines causing the pole to break and the power lines were cut off. Route 12 has been re-opened after clearing the power lines from the roadway. No injuries, no citations were issued. The Oneida County Sheriff's were assisted on the scene by Nationalgrid, Barneveld Fire Department, NY State DOT, and NY State Police.

Nationalgrid remained on the scene to repair the damaged lines/ pole.
