According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On August 08, 2020 at about 0435 PM, Deputies responded to Route 26 at the Skinner Rd intersection in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that William Osborne (48), of Holland Patent, NY, was operating a white 2018 Chevrolet Pick-up West on Skinner Rd. Due to failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, Osborne stopped for the stop sign and attempted to cross the intersection of Route 26 before being struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Pick-up operated by Francis Peck (56), of Holland Patent, NY in driver side. Peck’s vehicle continued off the West shoulder of the roadway before striking a tree and coming to rest approximately 40 feet off the road. Both parties involved were evaluated on scene, and Peck was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for chest pain. Osbourne was issued a citation for Failure to Yield the Right-Of-Way at a Stop Sign returnable to Town of Westmoreland court at a later date.
