According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on August 13, 2020 at approximately 6:30 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident with physical injuries at the intersection of Route 365 and Route 31 in the Town of Verona.

Deputies determined that Marianne Macdonald, age 81 of Canastota, NY was operating a 2013 Subaru Impreza Westbound on Route 365 when she bypassed the vehicles in the turning lane and attempted to make a left hand turn through the red arrow onto Route 31 from the center lane of Route 365. As Marianne made her turn she was struck by a 2014 Ram 1500 operated by James Kingsley, age 35 of Rome, NY. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries. Due to the drivers involved in the accident being transported from the scene and taken to local hospitals, no tickets have been issued at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
