According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on August 15th, 2020 at approximately 6:45 PM, Deputy Sheriff's investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle with reported injuries on Route 26 in the Town of Augusta. The investigation into the accident determined that Jason Small, 47 of Vernon, operating a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was traveling northbound on Route 26 and failed to negotiate a right curve causing his motorcycle to enter the oncoming lane of travel. Small then subsequently collided with an oncoming vehicle, a 2018 Ford F150 operated by W. Woodworth, that was traveling southbound on Route 26 and caused damage to both vehicles. Woodworth was not injured. Small also had a passenger on the motorcycle, Heather Thomas, 49 of Vernon, who signed off on scene after only suffering minor road rash on her arms. Small was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for injuries to his left leg and fractured bones in his left foot by COCVAC.

Citations have been issued at this time that are due back to the Town of Augusta Court at a later date. Deputies were assisted on scene by Oriskany Falls Fire Dept. and Clinton Collision.
