According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Saturday, August 22, 2020, a male was arrested following a domestic dispute in the City of Rome.

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at about 2:16 AM, Deputies responded to the parking lot of 6787 Martin St. in the City of Rome for a reported domestic incident. It was reported that at some point during the domestic incident, the domestic turned into a physical altercation and Christopher D. Carr, age 28 of Verona, NY, repeatedly struck the victim with a closed fist on several parts of their body and placed his hands on the victim’s neck. Carr was evaluated on scene and then transported by AmCare Ambulance to Rome Hospital for further evaluation. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office DWI Unit responded to Rome Hospital and after further investigation, Carr was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). After Carr was released from Rome Hospital and after Deputies met with the victim for a second time, Carr was located on August 22, 2020 at about 10:30 PM at an address on Hartman Rd. in the Town of Verona. Carr was taken into custody and transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. Carr was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, a Class A Misdemeanor and Harassment in the second degree, a Violation. Carr was booked/processed at the Sheriff’s Office, he was issued a traffic ticket for the DWI and then transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.
