According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, 1 adult and 4 children were sent to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center for medical evaluations stemming from a 3 car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 5 and Route 233 Town of Westmoreland.

Investigating Deputies on scene determined that a 2006 Hyundai driven by Colton J. Hepperly (30), from Deans Highway Vernon failed to yield the right of in the intersection. Mr. Colton’s vehicle collided with a west bound 2012 Volkswagen driven by Kimberly Kaczor (34) of Pleasant St New York Mills. Ms. Kaczor and the 4 juvenile children in her vehicle were all transported to St Elizabeths’s by Central Oneida County Ambulance for treatment of possible minor injuries.

A third vehicle involved in the accident a 2017 Hyundai driven by Mason Powell (32) Route 5 Vernon was struck by Mr. Colton’s vehicle as it spun around in the intersection causing minor damage. Mr. Powell and the 2 juvenile children in his vehicle were evaluated on scene and released without need for further medical treatment.

Mr. Colton was issued several traffic infractions returnable to Town of Westmoreland court on September 23, 2020 at 3:00 PM.
