According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 1 person was sent to the hospital following a car/motorcycle accident in the Town of Vernon.

On September 4, 2020 at approximately 1120 am Jason Stagnitti, 32 of Vernon was operating his 2007 Honda Motorcycle on Cooper Street in the Town of Vernon. Stagnitti attempted to pass a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV operated by Mark Carter, 54 of Fayetteville, when Carter began to turn left into a driveway. Stagnitti was unable to avoid the collision which forced his motorcycle off the road.

Stagnitti was taken to St. Elizabeth's hospital for evaluation of neck and leg injuries. Carter did not sustain any injuries in the incident.

Assisting on scene were members of Vineall Ambulance and Vernon Volunteer Fire Department.
