Update: Motor vehicle crash T/Westmoreland

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Westmoreland man has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and other traffic and drug offenses after a single vehicle motor vehicle crash in Westmoreland. Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Deans Highway and West South Street in Westmoreland at 11:06 AM after it was reported that a vehicle had struck a rock wall and overturned.

The vehicle had been occupied by Sewell A. Claycomb 29, of Westmoreland and his passenger Chelsea E. Heitzmann 27, of Whitestown at the time of the crash. Both parties were treated on scene by COCVAC for minor cuts and abrasions and declined to be transported. Field sobriety tests were administered on scene and Claycomb was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. It was determined through investigation that Claycomb was also found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances. In total, Claycomb was charged with (4) misdemeanors and (4) traffic tickets which are returnable to Westmoreland Town Court.
