According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Sunday September 20, 2020, one person was arrested following a domestic incident in the Town of Vernon.

On Sunday September 20, 2020, at approximately 10:45 P.M., Deputies arrived on the scene of a domestic incident which took place at an address located on Simmons Road in the Town of Vernon. It was reported that during a verbal argument between Alex J. Schwasnick, age 28 of Vernon, and his 20 year old girlfriend, that at some point the argument became physical leading to both parties sustaining minor injuries. As a result of the investigation it was determined that Alex Schwasnick was a primary aggressor of the argument and he was arrested for domestic violence charges including criminal obstruction of breathing, a class A misdemeanor, and harassment in the 2nd degree, a violation. During the course of the investigation it was also determined Alex had operated a vehicle while being impaired by alcohol. Alex was charged with misdemeanor DWI. Alex was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and then remanded at the Oneida County Jail for arraignment in CAP court.
