According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on September 23, 2020 at approximately 10:00 PMSheriff's Deputies responded to the area of Route 365 and Route 31 for a personal injury motor vehicle accident. Deputies determined that Edward Lockhart age 42 of Canastota, NY was operating a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage Eastbound on Route 365 when he exited his lane of travel and crossed the earthen embankment into the Westbound lanes of Route 365. Lockhart then continued Eastbound in the Westbound lanes until he struck the guide rail and was rebounded back into the earthen embankment separating the East and Westbound lanes. Lockhart suffered minor injuries and was transport to Rome Memorial Hospital to be evaluated. Lockhart was issued 6 Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date. The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Verona Fire Dept., and Vineall Ambulance.
